Bronzeshield Celebrates 40 Years of Partnership with Manitowoc

Aaron Burke

Bronzeshield Cranes is proud to celebrate a remarkable 40-year working relationship with Manitowoc, spanning from the Krupp 70 GMT-AT of the 1980s to the latest Grove GMK4080L.

The original Krupp 70 GMT-AT represented the cutting edge of mobile crane technology in its day as one of the pioneering all-terrain cranes operating in the UK market, it helped demonstrate the benefits of combining highway mobility with off-road capability, setting new standards for versatility and productivity in the industry, the Krupp 70 GMT-AT had a 122’0’’ main boom (37.2m) which is dwarfed in comparison to the boom length on its modern 4 axle cousin.

Today, Bronzeshield Lifting’s Grove GMK4080L represents the latest generation of all terrain cranes with all the latest technology, with 60m of main boom and a 15m bi-fold swing around fly jib it can reach an impressive tip height of 77m, and its single engine is the latest EUROMOT 5/Tier 4 final, making it one of the most fuel efficient cranes in its class.

Bronzeshield’s continued investment in Manitowoc Cranes reflects not only the quality of the equipment but also the strength of the partnership that has developed over the decades from the Krupp 70 GMT-AT through to the Groves in our current fleet, the GMK6300L-1, GMK5250XL-1, GMK5150XL & the newest addition GMK4080L, we have witnessed first-hand the evolution of all-terrain crane technology and are proud to have been part of that journey.

As Bronzeshield Lifting Ltd looks to the future, the company remains committed to investing in modern, reliable lifting solutions while celebrating the heritage that has helped build its reputation within the crane hire industry.
